A Bjj Vacation

December is one of the best times to take off from work because the students are away and the University gives us the opportunity to tack on vacation hours to the holidays they provide. I knew we weren’t going away for the break so I made it a goal to ramp up my Jiu Jitsu training and my half marathon runs. Between December the 21st and Jan the 4Th i was able to go to 12 training sessions and work up to a couple of 7 mile runs. The number of training partners was slim but I couldn’t have asked for better when it came to quality. I was able to train with Will, Bobby, Daniel, Justin, Jeff, and even Mike Landis who I hadn’t seen in quite some time.

I’m excited with where my progress is headed but still have plenty to improve as you will see on the video with Will. The gap between us is becoming more pronounced. I’m having a harder time passing his guard and retaining mine.
